Call for Applications: Visual Artists for 2026 Exhibitions
Description
The Alliance Française de Pretoria is pleased to invite visual artists to apply for our 2026 exhibitions. We are committed to showcasing thought-provoking, innovative, and inspiring work from both emerging and established artists. This open call welcomes all visual art mediums — including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, illustration, installation, and mixed media.
Application Deadline: 31 March 2026
Who can apply
This call is open to all visual artists, regardless of background or experience level. We encourage applications from artists with diverse practices, perspectives, and cultural identities.
What we offer
Selected artists will benefit from:
- Professional exhibition space at the Alliance Française de Pretoria
- Support with exhibition organisation and promotion
- Visibility within Pretoria’s dynamic arts community
How to apply
Applicants are required to submit:
- A short artist statement and biography
- A portfolio of up to 10 recent artworks
- An exhibition proposal (including any technical requirements)

About Alliance Française
The Alliance Française Pretoria is a non-profit organization and a cultural center that promotes the French language and Francophone culture in Pretoria through language courses, cultural events, and official exams. It is part of the global Alliance Française network and offers a range of French courses for all levels, specialized corporate training, and is the only certified center in Pretoria for official DELF/DALF and TEF exams. The center also acts as a cultural hub, hosting events like film screenings, concerts, and exhibitions.
